One former Brooklyn Nets star spoke about his experience with LeBron James, and it showed him just what kind of person he was.

Despite being the defining player of his generation, LeBron James is one of the most divisive players in NBA history.

For every hardcore LeBron superfan, there is an equal critic of James. Public opinion really turned on LeBron around the start of the 2010s.

When LeBron James made The Decision to join the Miami Heat, he went from being the face of the league to the ultimate villain of the NBA.

Even after years of his leaving the Heat, LeBron is constantly criticized. But one former NBA star spoke recently about just what kind of person he is when the chips are down.

Former NBA star, Mirza Teletovic took to Instagram recently to give his thoughts on LeBron James. Leaving a comment in his native Bosnian, he explained how LeBron James tried to help him.

In 2017, after a serious medical condition, no other NBA team would sign Teletovic. However, LeBron James offered to help bring Teletovic to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

“Few people know who King James really is. After my pulmonary embolism, when no one wanted to sign me, he called my agent and offered for me to play with him in Cleveland,” Teletovic wrote.

Teletovic’s 2017 pulmonary embolism was so serious that the Milwaukee Bucks waived him immediately, and he announced his retirement at the end of the season.

For James to offer a chance to end his career on a high note to Teletovic was an incredible gesture. Especially considering no other team was willing to make that offer.

What makes this even more impressive is that Teletovic, prior to the situation, had a history of making some rough fouls against LeBron James.

The King nearing the end of his own career

While LeBron James tried to help Mirza Teletovic end his career on a high note years ago, the Los Angeles Lakers seemingly refuse to do the same for him.

LeBron expressed to the Lakers his desire to compete for a championship. And while the team has made some big signings this summer, it’s clear the Lakers don’t value James as much anymore.

The arrival of Luka Doncic to the Lakers has left LeBron hanging high and dry. Doncic is the Lakers’ priority, their crown jewel.

So much so, that the Lakers are ready to let James walk next offseason, as they fully commit to building around Luka Doncic.

Hopefully, if this is James’ last season with the Lakers, they can understand the importance of it, and make it an affair to remember, as that is what a player of his stature deserves.
