SPOKANE, Wash. — The Gonzaga Bulldogs men’s basketball nonconference schedule continues to get tougher.
On Tuesday, college basketball insider Jon Rothstein reported that Gonzaga and Oregon will play Dec. 21 at the Moda Center in Portland.
The Zags and Ducks enter the 2025-26 season as highly touted teams, with Gonzaga ranked No. 19 in ESPN’s “Way-Too-Early” Top 25 poll and Oregon listed at No. 29 in the “next in line” section.
Gonzaga and Oregon have met just twice since 1999. Their most recent matchup came in the 2019-20 season at the Battle 4 Atlantis, when then-No. 8 Gonzaga beat then-No. 11 Oregon in overtime, 73-72, after the Ducks rallied from a 17-point first-half deficit. In the 1999-2000 season, the teams met at the Outrigger Hotels Rainbow Classic in Honolulu, where Oregon won 70-64 in the championship round.
Since 1949, Gonzaga and Oregon have met 10 times total.
So far, Gonzaga will open the season hosting Texas Southern on Nov. 3, play Oklahoma at Spokane Arena on Nov. 8, face Alabama and Maryland in the first two days of the Players Era Festival, play Kentucky in Nashville on Dec. 5, and take on UCLA in Seattle on Dec. 13.
