Fans of the Boston Celtics have mostly come to terms with the fact that vet big man Al Horford will join the Golden State Warriors as an unrestricted free agent. But recent reporting has hinted at the possibility that the University of Florida alum’s career might end up going in a very different direction.

Per reports, Horford might end up choosing to retire from the sport should the situation with the Warriors holding up a potential signing of the Puerto Plata native — the free agency of Golden State forward Jonathan Kuminga — not resolve soon enough. What the other parameters are that could push Horford in either direction, if any, remain unclear apart from the length of time sorting out his future with the Dubs. But this bears keeping an eye on for fans of the forward and his (presumably) former team.
