The pieces of the nonconference schedule for Colorado women’s basketball have fallen into place.

On Wednesday, the Buffaloes announced the home portion of the nonconference slate for the 2025-26 season, which includes eight games at the CU Events Center. The Buffs will also play in a three-game tournament in Hawaii, as well as a trip to Louisville, Ky.

Led by 10th-year head coach JR Payne, the Buffaloes will host Colorado School of Mines in an exhibition game on Oct. 29. They will then officially tip off the season on Nov. 6 by hosting New Mexico at the Events Center.

“We are very excited to announce our preseason schedule for 2025-26,” Payne said in a press release. “We have challenged ourselves with many teams that played in the postseason last year and who have various styles of play. I believe this will prepare us for another great season of Big 12 play.”

The home portion of the nonconference slate also includes dates with Portland State, Boise State, Montana State, Charleston, Wyoming, Miami-Ohio and Northern Colorado in Boulder.

“I am especially excited that we have eight home games during our preseason so that our Buff fans can come watch this exciting ball club,” Payne said. “This year’s team will be so much fun to watch.”

CU’s lone true road game in the nonconference will be a visit to Louisville, a likely preseason top-25 team, on Nov. 12 to complete a home-and-home set. The Cardinals visited Boulder last season, beating the Buffs 79-71 on Nov. 30.

On Tuesday, J5 Inc. announced that CU will be a part of the four-team North Shore Showcase, hosted by BYU-Hawaii from Nov. 20-25 in Laie, Oahu. The Buffs will be joined by Texas A&M, Texas-Arlington and VCU.

In addition to the 12-game nonconference schedule, the Buffs will play 18 games in the Big 12 Conference. The Big 12 has not announced dates for the conference schedule, but has announced opponents.

In conference play, the Buffs will have home-and-home sets with three teams: Arizona, BYU and Oklahoma State. CU will host Cincinnati, Iowa State, TCU, Texas Tech, Utah and West Virginia. The road Big 12 games will be at Arizona State, Baylor, UCF, Houston, Kansas and Kansas State.
