Just like last year, the Dallas Mavericks and Pittsburgh Steelers had a training camp crossover.

A year after Nico Harrison and Jason Kidd ventured up north to observe Steelers camp and get some ideas from Steelers coach Mike Tomlin, Harrison returned.

LeVelle Moton, the head men’s basketball coach at North Carolina Central, posted a picture on his social media account of himself, Nico Harrison, Aaron Rodgers and College of Charleston assistant basketball coach Jeff McInnis having lunch at Steelers camp.

Tomlin also posted a picture on Instagram with Harrison, Moton and McInnis captioned, “Loved sharing ideas and talking hoops with these guys. Always a pleasure to have them at camp.”

One key difference is Kidd apparently did not make the trip out to Pittsburgh, unlike last year.

“As a coach, you always want to get better, and when you talk about the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Tomlin is the best,” Kidd told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette last year.

Although Harrison had a significantly more turbulent season than Tomlin since their last meeting, thanks to his infamous Luka Doncic trade that infuriated Mavericks fans, Tomlin is facing some pressure of his own. The Steelers have been mired in mediocrity recently and have not won a playoff game since 2017.

Now, Tomlin’s hopes rest on the shoulders of the 41-year-old Rodgers and Harrison’s hopes rest on 32-year-old Anthony Davis’ shoulders.

Maybe Tomlin and Harrison shared ideas on how to handle their upcoming pressure-packed seasons?
