Arizona men’s basketball only has one blockbuster home non-conference game on its schedule this year, a Dec. 6 date against Auburn, which means the Wildcats staff will be using that weekend to bring recruits to Tucson.
At least one top prospect in the class of 2026 already has plans to visit Arizona then: four-star wing Cameron Holmes of Millenium High School (Goodyear).
Holmes told 247Sports that he will take an official visit to Arizona beginning Dec. 5. Holmes also has visits lined up with Texas, Gonzaga, Illinois, North Carolina and Oklahoma.
Holmes, a 6-foot-6 small forward, is ranked as the No. 24 overall player in his class, according to 247Sports, including the No. 9 small forward and No. 4 prospect from Arizona.
“Holmes is a lefty wing who came up the ranks with a big early reputation,” 247Sports’ Adam Finklestein writes. “He’s had the maturity to take that in stride and grow into a very solid and versatile two-way player, who rarely gets caught up in trying too hard to prove himself. He has solid measurables at 6-foot-6 in shoes with a 6-foot-9 wingspan, good athleticism, and functional strength without boasting a ton of visible muscle mass.”
Holmes’ comes from a basketball family. His brother, DaRon Holmes II, plays for the Denver Nuggets after starring at Dayton. DaRon Holmes II scored 23 points for Dayton in its loss to Arizona in the 2024 NCAA Tournament Round of 32.
The younger Holmes doesn’t project to be an immediate NBA player; Finklestein calls him a “good multi-year college player.”
Arizona was one of the first major conference schools to offer Holmes back in the spring of 2023. Arizona has an advantage of being the only in-state school in Holmes’ final list.
Arizona coach Tommy Lloyd and his staff have consistently delivered on the recruiting trail, most recently landing the No. 3 overall class in 2025.
