The Los Angeles Clippers enter the 2025-26 season with one of the most star-studded rosters in the league that features former All-Stars Kawhi Leonard, James Harden, Chris Paul, and Bradley Beal. Despite the talent, not everyone is buying the hype. In the meantime, former NBA champion Jeff Teague voiced concerns about the team’s title chances.
Speaking on the Club 520 podcast, Teague questioned the roster’s age and structure. While the additions look impressive, the team’s average age is a record-breaking 33.6, officially the oldest roster in league history. That, combined with overlapping play styles, could cause problems with team chemistry and lead to more injuries during the season.
“I just don’t think this is a good [team], I don’t think it is,”Teague said. “Like, if this was three years ago, I’d be like. It’s the best team you could put together right here. And now I think age is undefeated. That’s the oldest team in NBA history, bro. But in fact, they are the oldest team ever assembled in NBA history by average age.”
Health and cohesion will play the key roles as hurdles. With injury-prone stars like Beal, Leonard, and Chris Paul now at 40, faster Western Conference squads could make a significant challenge for the Clippers next season.

Beal opened up about why he chose to join the Clippers this offseason. After agreeing to a buyout with the Phoenix Suns, Beal signed a two-year, $11 million deal with the franchise.
Speaking to KMOV’s Tamar Sher, Beal said, “I need a ring. You know I want one badly. I felt like I got a new life of rejuvenation and a new hunger.” He added that joining the Clippers gave him new energy and hunger to win, and he took it as a fresh opportunity in a competitive environment.
Last Season with the Suns, Beal averaged 17 points, 3.7 assists, and 3.3 rebounds in 53 games. Now, he is chasing a ring in Los Angeles.
