It’s been roughly a month and a half since the Denver Nuggets traded Michael Porter Jr. to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Cam Johnson, and the longtime Nuggets forward has spent a lot of time in front of a microphone since then. He’s been providing insight to what life in the NBA is like, he’s been taking about his time in Denver, his future in Brooklyn and so much more.

Porter even dropped a curious comment about how hard his first workout with the Nets was after spending his whole career playing for a contending team in Denver.

In the most recent episode of his “Curious Mike” podcast that released on Thursday, Porter was asked about his favorite memory in his seven years of Denver (he only played for six seasons, as he missed the entire 2018-2019 season due to his second back surgery). His answer? The relationships he made with all his teammates in the Mile High City.

“The relationships I’ve built … I was here for so long that the only two people that were [still] on the team by the time I got traded were Jamal [Murray] and Nikola [Jokic]. I’ve been through so many different teammates, and that’s the life of a lot of NBA players, but I remember my times with Monte Morris and Will Barton, those were my guys. I remember getting mentored by Paul Millsap … Then Jerami Grant came, and I got real close with him and we were in the bubble together chopping it up. [Jarred Vanderbilt] and Torrey [Craig], and then now, all these guys, Julian [Strawther], Peyton [Watson].”

Porter has played with 57 teammates throughout his time in Denver, and will add plenty more over in Brooklyn.

“I feel like I’ve made some of my best connections and best friends through the people that have come through Denver … That’s got to be it, the relationships I’ve built during the times in Denver,” Porter said.

Those guys helped mentor him and shape them into the player he is today. They might not have taught him a whole lot about passing the ball, but it seems that they taught him plenty of other things as they all built strong bonds with each other.

The 6-foot-10 sharpshooter has said a lot of questionable things over the last month when he’s been put in front of a microphone, but he’s made sure to emphasize that it’s all love between him, the Nuggets and all his former teammates. He’s had nothing bad to say about the organization or the city.

Now, he had made some wild comments about his vices and his brother’s gambling woes that got him suspended from the NBA, and as a result, he’s been a topic of discussion among the NBA world as people have been bringing up some of his funniest social media moments of his career. He said that he’s going to try and embrace the “Curious Mike” side of things more, so Nuggets Nation, and the rest of the NBA fanbase, will get to see a whole lot more of Porter spilling his mind.
