OSHKOSH — Tyrese Haliburton shared a new colorway of his signature shoe, the PUMA Hali 1 with a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, on the afternoon of Thursday, Aug. 14.

On Friday, the Indiana Pacers star showed them off to campers at Oshkosh North, a place he never imagined wearing those colors.

“With me introducing, the first year of my shoe I always joked that I never owned anything blue in high school because (of) Oshkosh West. It’s maybe a little sacrilegious for me to be wearing blue shoes in here right now, but it does mean a lot to have my own shoe,” Haliburton said. “When they do get to come out, I’m sure next year the next time I come here there’ll be a lot of kids wearing the shoes so that means the world to me.”

The PUMA Hali 1s debuted in Game 1 of the NBA Finals in a pink colorway named “Hibiscus.” It was a memorable debut for the shoes as Haliburton hit a game-winning shot and then placed the shoes on the podium during his media session.

The shoes have yet to be released for the public to purchase, with reports saying they’ll release in September

Haliburton walked around the camp with just one shoe, on his left foot. He wore a walking boot on his right foot as continues to rehab from a torn right Achilles that happened in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.

“I have good days and bad days,” Haliburton said on his recovery. “I think when you look back on the year that was and how special it was it means a lot to me. I had a lot of fun and got to grow myself as a player and person every day. Chase my dream of winning a championship.

“It’s been up and down but I’m finally walking without the use of crutches or a scooter or anything so that’s exciting for me. I wanted to be able to make sure I was able to at least walk a little bit by the time that I was able to be here.”

While hosting his second annual camp at Oshkosh North, there were signs featuring his signature logo. The logo is also featured next to the scoreboards as part of a donation Haliburton made to the athletic department.

But what about a shoe in Oshkosh North’s colors?

“We’ll see. I don’t want to spill everything, but we’re working on some things for sure,” Haliburton said.

As for the name of the shoes he was in Friday, Haliburton played coy when asked.

“Not allowed to say that right now,” Haliburton said with a smile. “That’ll come out eventually. But I’m excited for people to see everything we have in the works. We have a lot of things planned and people know that I’m very creative with my fashion in general, especially my shoes. So I’m excited for people to see everything we’re doing.”
