A Halloween matchup between the Memphis Grizzlies and Los Angeles Lakers will be the first nationally televised game inside FedExForum for the 2025-26 NBA season.
Memphis usually draws a big game against the Lakers each season, and this one will come on Oct. 31. The matchup between the Grizzlies and Lakers will also been an Emirates NBA Cup matchup.
The Lakers went 3-1 against the Grizzlies last season. Memphis won the first meeting before L.A. countered with three straight.
The two foes will only meet three times this season.
Memphis will travel to Los Angeles twice. The Grizzlies and Lakers will meet at Crypto.com Arena on Jan. 2 and 4.
The Lakers are led by LeBron James and Luka Doncic, arguably one of the most talented duos to ever share a floor together.
Familiar faces will also face off on both sides. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who was traded to the Grizzlies this offseason, won a championship with James and the Lakers in 2020. Grizzlies 2022 first-round draft pick Jake LaRavia also signed this offseason with the Lakers. He was traded from Memphis to the Sacramento Kings before the 2025 NBA trade deadline.
Memphis has been held to one win against the Lakers in each of the past three seasons. In that same time frame, the Lakers won three games last season, three the season before that, and finished 2-1 in 2022-23.
