Luka Doncic delivered one of the most outstanding individual performances in NBA history when he torched the Atlanta Hawks for 73 points in January 2024. The Dallas Mavericks star led his team to a 148-143 victory and set a new career high by trying for the fourth most points scored in a single game in league history.

Doncic’s efficiency was staggering. He shot 25 of 33 from the field, including 8 of 13 from beyond the arc, and hit 15 of his 16 free throws. By halftime, he had 41 points and never let up. Despite Atlanta’s relentless effort, Doncic kept the Mavericks ahead with his clutch scoring late in the game.

Former NBA guard Jeff Teague shared his emotional reaction on the Club 520 podcast. “It was so crazy, bro, I was crying when I was watching it,” he said. After witnessing the display, Hall of Famers Magic Johnson and Paul Pierce also expressed their amazement on social media.

The Hawks pushed Doncic and the Mavericks until the final moments. Trae Young’s quiet but effective night with 9 points, six assists, and two steals kept things close. But the Slovenian sensation refused to fold under pressure and sealed a dramatic and unforgettable win that instantly became part of the history of the NBA.

Popular podcaster Jeff Teague recently shared a wild story about confronting a fan who once trolled him online. Back when he played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Teague recognized the man as his Postmates delivery driver and called him out for his disrespectful tweets.

“I come down to meet him, I was like, ‘Hey, is this you?’ Read the tweet. He was like, ‘You respond!’ I’m like, ‘No n***a, I’m in person.’ …  I’m going, you know me, ‘What you say b***h?’ I’ma start doing all that. He like, ‘No, no, no. You just don’t care. You’re mean to the fans. You don’t say hi to nobody or nothing,” Trae said. “He started doing all that s***.”And I just started looking at him, he really scared. I can’t do nothing to you fam.”

After a similar incident involving a LeBron James Joke, Trae admitted he is now more careful with fans to avoid regretful situations.
