Presumably in search of greater NBA opportunities, reserve center N’Faly Dante and assistant coach Mike Moser are reportedly leaving Houston for roles elsewhere.

Reserve center N’Faly Dante, who played last season on a two-way contract with the Houston Rockets, is headed to the Atlanta Hawks. The news was first reported by Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

Dante signed a two-way offer sheet, and as a restricted free agent, Houston technically has the right to match it. However, the Rockets do not have enough room under the first-apron hard cap to do so, per Spotrac’s Keith Smith.

Dante averaged 15.1 points (74.3% FG), 9.8 rebounds, 2.2 blocks, and 1.0 steals per game with Houston’s NBA G League affiliate, the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) Vipers.

Houston’s current two-way players are JD Davison, Isaiah Crawford, and Kevon Harris. All were signed earlier in the 2025 offseason, which seemingly signaled a likelihood that Dante would head elsewhere.

With three proven centers (Alperen Sengun, Steven Adams, and Clint Capela) all under contract with the Rockets for multiple seasons moving forward, there wasn’t much of a pathway in Houston for Dante to potentially earn minutes.

Meanwhile, assistant coach Mike Moser is leaving the Rockets to join David Adelman’s staff with the Nuggets. As reported by Scotto, Moser will be at the “front of the bench” in Denver, which represents a higher placement in the hierarchy than what Moser had with Ime Udoka’s staff in Houston.

As things stand, Udoka’s coaching assistants include Royal Ivey, Ben Sullivan, Garrett Jackson, Cam Hodges, and Will Dunn. It is not yet clear if Houston plans to hire a sixth assistant to replace Moser.

Just In: The Denver Nuggets have added Mike Moser as an assistant coach, sources told @hoopshype. Moser moves to the front of the bench after being an assistant coach on the Rockets for Ime Udoka since 2023. Moser worked with Udoka on the Celtics too. He also worked for the Mavs. pic.twitter.com/aBviOEofSC
