Nikola Jokic. He’s not going to be the fastest player in the gym, he’s not going to jump the highest in the gym, but he’s certainly going to be the best player in the gym. He’s also going to be the most fit player in the gym, even though he doesn’t look like it on first glance (just ask DeAndre Ayton).
The three-time NBA MVP has found a way to dominate the game of basketball with elite footwork, touch and IQ. He doesn’t need to posterize people with ferocious dunks, but his highlights are just as exciting, at least for those who appreciate the game of basketball.
It’s always a highlight when Jokic throws down a dunk that sends the Ball Arena crowd into a frenzy. Usually, it’s just a little rim grazer with nothing flashy involved, but any dunk from the Serbian superstar is still a pleasant surprise. Over the weekend, Jokic showed off a new trick in his arsenal that was a shock to everyone in the NBA world.
Wait a damn minute….we got Jokic doing highlight dunks now? pic.twitter.com/uXN4pLt7xS

It might not look like 2009 LeBron James or 1988 Michael Jordan, but hey, a reverse windmill is still a highlight dunk, no matter how high a player jumps off the ground. He’s given some hints in the past that he might be a better dunker than most people think, but this is by far the best move he’s shown he’s capable of.

Is he going to pull this stuff out in the playoffs next year? Probably not. Still, it’s fun to see him pull out a surprise or two from his never-ending bag of tricks.
Anyone who calls Jokic fat or says that he’s slow is someone who doesn’t pay close enough attention when he’s on the court. He’s one of the most fit players in the NBA, even though he doesn’t look like a prototypical NBA star.
Jokic and Serbia have been dominating exhibition competition leading into EuroBasket, which is set to begin on Aug. 29.
