Perennial all-star Kevin Durant was part of a blockbuster, seven-team trade in June that sent him from the Phoenix Suns to the Houston Rockets. The Heat, who are coming off having their first losing record since the 2018-19 season, were looking for a big splash this offseason but weren’t able to come to terms with Phoenix.

On Friday, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald revealed the package Miami offered the Suns for Durant, which may surprise Heat fans.

Jackson reported the Heat offered Andrew Wiggins, Terry Rozier, Jaime Jaquez, Haywood Highsmith and the 20th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. This draft pick became Kasparas Jakucionis.

The Suns ultimately decided to decline Miami’s offer in favor of the Rockets’, which turned into Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, Khaman Maluach (No. 10 overall), Rasheer Fleming (No. 31 overall), Koby Brea (No. 41 overall), Daeqwon Plowden, a 2026 second-round pick and a 2032 second-round pick.

This colossal package gives Phoenix pieces for winning now and in the future, while the Rockets came out with Durant and Clint Capela.

Durant, who is now with his fifth franchise, is a 15-time all-star, two-time NBA champion and has won an MVP award in his career. He has averaged 27.2 points, seven rebounds and 4.4 assists per game in his illustrious 17-year NBA career thus far.
