Sebastian Telfair talks about getting flamed for saying Kobe Bryant had a lot of girls on the side: “I wasn’t snitching on Kobe” originally appeared on Basketball Network.

Former NBA guard Sebastian Telfair ruffled a lot of feathers last year with his comments regarding the private life of the late, great Los Angeles Lakers wingman Kobe Bryant. In an interview on VladTV, Bassy revealed that while he never saw Bean at any of L.A.’s nightclubs, it didn’t mean he never had any honeys on the side.

The revelation struck a nerve with fans and former NBA players, including former NBA champion Stephen Jackson, who lambasted Telfair for shoving dirt on Bryant’s legacy and trying to stay relevant at the expense of a deceased person. But according to Sebastian, he wasn’t trying to snitch on the Black Mamba.

Trying to humanize Kobe

Long before his tragic passing in January 2020, Kobe already reached mythical status in sports lore. With five NBA titles, an MVP trophy and countless unforgettable moments on the court, he was simply put, one of the best to lace them up on the hardwood floor. According to Bassy, he shared what he did because he was trying to humanize the late Lakers legend.

“I ain’t gonna lie. I get like five DMs a day about that,” Telfair shared. “Like, ‘Yo man, f you. How you snitch on Kobe?'”

“Like, no, I wasn’t snitching on Kobe. I was making Kobe a human being to us. You understand what I’m saying? A human being. He’s not all 24 hours just, you know, working on his f—king free throws,” he continued. “So I’m making him a human being. Kobe was a dope individual. You know what I’m saying? So a lot of people loved him. That’s basically what I was saying to clean that up.”

One veteran who came to Kobe’s defense and delivered a sharp response to Sebastian’s remarks was Stak. Upon hearing Bassy’s comments, he was beside himself.

“Like what, what, what are you gaining from that? What type of attention do you think you gained it from that, bro? Like that’s the weakest s—t in the world to even mention the dead,” Jackson stressed.

Telfair, though, clarified that there isn’t any beef between him and Jackson, saying he understood what the latter’s message was.

“That’s the big bro. You know, big family fight sometimes and s—t. You know what I’m saying?” Bassy asserted. “I know he hot at me. I was hot at him. We went back and forth, but that’s regular s—t, man. We’ll chop it up when I see him.”

Kobe supposedly had them chicks

According to Telfair, just because Bryant wasn’t seen at clubs didn’t mean he never got busy with it. While the shooting guard’s work ethic on the basketball court was the stuff of legends, Sebastian hinted that Kobe also had his fair share of affairs, which occurred away from the prying eyes of the public.

“Kobe had them chicks, though,” Bassy stated.

Telfair, a cousin of Stephon Marbury who played 10 years in the NBA, narrated how there was one woman who were friends with his ex-wife, with whom they regularly hung out, especially in the City of Angels. However, they were perturbed when, after a game against the Lakers, this woman suddenly disappeared for nearly a year.

However, Bassy was surprised to learn that this woman was already living at the Palazzo, a posh luxury apartment complex in Los Angeles.

“Kobe had snatched her. Kobe must have been shooting a free throw like, ‘She bad,'” Bassy claimed. “Kobe had them chicks, but he wasn’t in them clubs.”

It’s best to take Bassy’s story with a grain of salt, especially since KB is no longer around to defend himself. However, given his legendary status and charming good looks, it’s safe to say the Lakers wingman attracted his fair share of attention from the opposite sex.
