Yves Missi just put on an incredible performance with the Cameroonian national team, which could be a sign for his next season with the New Orleans Pelicans.
Yves Missi is one of the New Orleans Pelicans’ most promising young prospects. The Cameroonian star showed that he has a bright future ahead of him.
Pelicans coach Willie Green praised Missi’s performance during the 2024-25 NBA season, dubbing the campaign a big success.
His performance was so strong that the LA Lakers even attempted to trade for Missi this offseason, before they landed Deandre Ayton.
Missi spent the offseason gaining weight to be stronger during games. And while representing Cameroon, Missi showed his improvement and the strength he has worked on.

It was a great performance from Missi, who has been a true leader for the Cameroonian national team, leading them in points (16.7), rebounds (8.7), and blocks per game (1.7).
And heading into the AfroBasket quarterfinals, the Cameroonian national team will be relying on the young center heavily.
New Orleans Pelicans hoping this form continues into NBA season
The New Orleans Pelicans will be keeping a close eye on Missi’s performances with Cameroon to understand how they need to adjust Missi’s development plan.
If the young center does a good job and leads Cameroon to success at the tournament, he will earn himself more minutes next season.
He will have competition for the spot, as the Pelicans traded up to pick Derik Queen in the NBA Draft.
But given that Missi has more NBA experience and is showing great form at the AfroBasket tournament, he will have a great shot at being their starting center.
