Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic is capable of impacting the game in many ways.

Be it scoring, rebounding, or assisting, Nikola Jokic has all the tools in his arsenal, and that’s what makes him one of the best players in the world right now.

Even opposing players like Dennis Schroder cannot argue about Jokic’s fascinating talent on the hardwood.

But if there’s one thing that fans rarely see the 6’11” Denver Nuggets star do, it’s dunk during games.

Despite being a center and one of the tallest players in the NBA, Jokic lacks the verticality to pull off dunks in high-octane games.

It doesn’t mean that the Joker can’t dunk a basketball; he can. But more often than not, Jokic relies on his incredible IQ to control the game.

However, during a recent practice session with Serbia ahead of the 2025 EuroBasket, fans witnessed Jokic pulling off a reverse two-handed slam.

Now, that’s a rare sight as the 3x NBA MVP not only dunked but also celebrated it afterwards.

NBA fans believe they know the reason behind Nikola Jokic’s dunk

The Nuggets superstar may be one of the best stars in the NBA, but fans believe Jokic enjoys watching horse racing more than playing basketball.

Speaking of his practice dunk for Serbia, NBA fans were quick to connect it to Jokic’s emotional viral celebration this summer when he won a horse race.

“Bro got more inspired after that horse victory,” one fan wrote. While another added: “His horse won, he climbed his mountain, now it’s all just fun from here on out.”

“He’s still flying high from that horse race,” a third fan added.

“This is literally the most athletic dunk I’ve ever seen from him,” a fourth fan stated.

“His horse won a race in the summer; that boy is going to play with purpose this season,” a fan suggested.

Regardless of the source of his motivation, if Jokic dunks the ball more during NBA games, it will be excellent for fans as it will be a new addition to the Joker’s game.
