At the 2014 NBA All-Star weekend, John Wall decided to turn the Slam Dunk contest into his personal Mardi Gras.

Going up against a who’s who of the league at the time, Wall used his signature athleticism to put on a show with some incredible dunks.

He wowed the fans in attendance and did the same for the judges, who voted him to be the winner of the 2014 NBA Slam Dunk contest.

Casting a 52-point spell against the Orlando Magic

On a cold December night in 2016, John Wall provided the heat for fans in the Verizon Center. The point guard dropped one of the greatest scoring performances in franchise history.

Playing against the Orlando Magic, John Wall decided to drop 52 points. It was the highest-scoring output of his entire career.

Wall was a three-level scorer on the night, torching the Magic at the rim, from the midrange, and from beyond the arc.

Calling game against the Boston Celtics in the playoffs

Perhaps the greatest single moment from John Wall’s career came in May of 2017. Wall, along with Bradley Beal, took the Wizards to the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Playing against a tough Boston Celtics side, the Wizards were down 3-2 coming into Game 6. But in an incredible effort, Beal sank a buzzer-beater to push the Celtics to seven games.

It was an incredible scene. Seeing Wall immediately rush to the crowd to celebrate with the fans was a moment of pure, unadulterated euphoria.

John Wall will go down as the greatest Washington Wizard ever

John Wall’s legacy is a little difficult to assess. When healthy, he was an incredible star who could hurt you on all ends of the court.

But after his tragic injury, Wall was a diminished player. While he did his best to keep up with the younger generation, it just wouldn’t happen.

Now, as he walks away from the NBA, after years of struggling, fans will fondly remember his best moments. While Wall’s lowlights will be deleted to honor the player for who he was.
