In one final exhibition game ahead of EuroBasket, Nikola Jokic and Serbia absolutely throttled Luka Doncic and Serbia on Thursday, 106-72.
Serbia got out to a fast start, leading 33-23 after one quarter, and never looked back. Led by a strong start from Bogdan Bogdanovic, Nikola Jovic and Aleksa Avramovic, Jokic took a backseat and cruised. The trio had 32 points at halftime to lead Serbia to a 64-36 lead. Doncic scored 12 points before the break.
Jokic still racked up stats in the first, tallying six points, six rebounds and four assists. That’s pretty much on par with Jokic’s average of 12.4 points per game during this EuroBasket warm-up phase. He’s been trying to get his teammates involved.
The Denver Nuggets’ big man didn’t need to play the fourth quarter, limited to just over 21 minutes of action where he recorded 10 points, eight rebounds and four assists on the game. Jokic got loud MVP cheers from his home fans in Belgrade at one point.
