Aaron Gordon. Better known as Mr. Nugget.
Who in Nuggets Nation doesn’t love themselves some Aaron Gordon? Since he stepped foot in the city in 2021 after the Nuggets traded for him at the deadline, he has shown nothing but a want to help this franchise compete for a championship day in and day out. As a result, he has established himself as a fan-favorite on and off the court.
For anyone questioning that, it was proven the night the Nuggets won the franchise’s first NBA Championship and Gordon was in the streets with a mob of happy fans surrounding him.

Just a month after Nikola Jokic went on a tour of China with his shoe brand, 361 Degrees, Gordon is following suit. He’s labeled as a “brand ambassador” for the company, and his tour is making one stop in Malaysia on top of five around China. It kicked off on Aug. 21 and is scheduled to continue through Aug. 29. Throughout the first four days, Gordon has been receiving all the love.

When asked about how fans have tabbed him with the “glue guy” designation on the Nuggets, he had a great answer that shows just how much of a team player he is.
“I love that description. [I] pride myself on being the best glue guy in the NBA. I think basketball is a team sport and if I didn’t want to be a glue guy, if I didn’t want to have teammates, I would’ve been a boxer and I would’ve played tennis and I would’ve been a fencer … The consecutiveness of a team is really what makes basketball special, and you can’t do it without a team so I just make sure everyone on our team is together and I do whatever it takes for our team to win,” Gordon said in a Q&A.
Gordon was also judging a dunk contest that featured lots of high-flying talent, and looked like he was enjoying himself to the fullest.
For those who don’t remember, way back when he was on the Magic in the early stages of his career, Gordon was a frequent flyer in the NBA Dunk Contest, but never won the event. His duel with Zach Lavine in 2016 was one of the most iconic moments in the NBA in the 2010s, but Gordon received a 47 on a dunk that most NBA players can only dream of which led to him finishing in second place. He tried multiple times after that but only managed to get one more runner-up finish.

Basketball fans all over the world are fond of Gordon, which shows why he was given the Mr. Nugget nickname. He’s only put out his strongest effort on the court over the last few seasons, and will likely do the same in this upcoming campaign barring something unforeseen happening.
Also, it doesn’t look like he cares too much about getting snubbed by NBA 2K on his rating in the game.
