Shaquille O’Neal remains in the limelight for his unignorable comments. The former NBA legend led the Los Angeles Lakers to a dominant run in the early 2000s with Kobe Bryant by his side. They won three straight championships from 2000 to 2002. Recently, Shaquille O’Neal also shared his respect for teammate Kobe Bryant, as he considers him a GOAT.
One of the most intense moments of that era was the 2002 Western Conference Finals against the Sacramento Kings. The series went to Game 7 and is still remembered for its drama. The Lakers had a significant advantage at the free-throw line, while several calls went against the Kings in Game 6. Despite strong delivery, the Kings couldn’t close the series and lost in Game 7 in overtime after missing key shots and free throws.
Recently, a kid asked Shaquille O’Neal about his favorite moment in his career. With former Kings star Mike Bibby sitting next to him, he did not hold back and said, “Beating the Sacramento Kings.” The moment was shared in the Straight Game podcast and quickly went viral.
Shaquille laughed while answering, still seeming to enjoy the memory. The former Lakers player also had a locker room playful experience with his teammates, but his on-court rivalry remains unmatched.

O’Neal made a heart-touching gesture on 8/24 and Kobe’s birthday by gifting Kobe Bryant’s mother, Pam Bryant, a fully restored 1996 Toyota Land Cruiser. The car had once belonged to Kobe and had remained unused for years outside her home. Shaquille O’Neal noticed it and decided to bring it back to life through a Los Angeles car shop.
The restoration was worth around $9,000, and Shaquille paid it himself. It was his way of honoring Kobe’s birthday and legacy. He has been close to Pam since Kobe’s death. His sweet gesture reflects his respect for his former teammate, Kobe Bryant.
