The Los Angeles Lakers will enter the 2025-26 NBA season with an improved roster.
The likes of Deandre Ayton and Marcus Smart are the biggest additions to the team as the Los Angeles Lakers aim to lift the Larry O’Brien trophy.
However, aside from the new additions, the Lakers also need their veterans to improve. Otherwise, when push comes to shove, the Purple and Gold will be outplayed by their opponents in the Western Conference.

With the Lakers’ roster pretty much set, it’s time for players to improve their skills ahead of the upcoming season. Keeping that strategy in mind, Jarred Vanderbilt recently shared a workout video on X.
During the clip, Vanderbilt is seen doing a plethora of things, including sharing his workout routine with the Laker Nation.
But upon seeing the clip, most Lakers fans made one demand of the forward.
“You need to be practising corner threes,” one fan wrote. While another added: “All we’re asking for is corner threes and finishing at the rim big dog.”
“Learn how to shoot fr,” a third fan added.
“Better be practicing on finishing, corner threes, dribbling, and passing,” a fourth fan stated.
“Bro, please work on that vertical and make ya layups, my guy,” another fan requested.
It will be interesting to see if Vanderbilt can put in the work and prove himself useful to head coach JJ Redick during the season.
Injuries have held back Jarred Vanderbilt
For his career, Vando has shot a solid 56.0% from the field, but he has shot an underwhelming 28.8% from the three-point line.
While his shooting from deep has improved to 29.3% during his Lakers tenure, it’s still not enough. Another concern around Vanderbilt is his fitness.
In the last two seasons, the 26-year-old has played in just 65 out of a possible 164 games during the regular season.
That means he has missed more than 60% of games in the last two seasons. So, unless he can remain fit, improving his flaws won’t do much good for the Lakers.
