The Clippers had a hectic offseason, as they reconstructed their roster for this season. One of the new acquisitions the Clippers got is John Collins, and he is poised to have a very career-year with the LA Clippers. When he was with Utah, John Collins struggled to find a groove there and the Jazz coaching staff struggled putting John Collins on what position/situation of the game to put him in during his time in Utah with the Jazz.

John Collins played 71 games in Utah, where he shot 42.2% from the floor, and only averaged 6.3 assists. Shockingly, this was John Collins’ highest during his time on the Utah Jazz. John Collins showed in his 2 years in Utah how hard of a player he is and how much he’s improved, but with a really young roster in Utah, the Jazz front office and coaching staff didn’t have room for him and struggled each season to fit him on the team.

Since John Collins got traded this offseason to the Clippers, it’s going to be more beneficial for him, as well as playing for a contender like the LA Clippers. John Collins will play with veterans and leadership with Kawhi, James Harden, and Chris Paul. For John Collins, Clipper fans will look to see him scoring 19.5 points a game, as well as 9.8 rebounds per game. Having John Collins on Ty Lue’s Clippers roster will be a huge advantage for the Clippers, as they will rely on his elite pick-and-roll playmaking from his time with the Atlanta Hawks.
