As Malik Beasley eyes up a move to the New York Knicks, he could have to issue out an apology to a player he once disrespected.

The New York Knicks are looking to re-establish themselves as the top players in the Eastern Conference.

A combination of ill-timed injuries to star players on rival teams, along with their new coaching direction with Mike Brown, has opened the door for the Knicks to be the best team in the Eastern Conference.

The front office made sure to re-up their roster, signing Guerschon Yabusele to the Knicks. They would follow this up by adding Jordan Clarkson to the Knicks roster.

And now, as they look to bring Malik Beasley to their side after he cleared his legal issues, he might have to address his previous comments about a key Knicks star.

Earlier this year, the New York Knicks and the Detroit Pistons were embroiled in a heated first-round playoff series.

During the series, Malik Beasley, who was with the Detroit Pistons at the time, told the New York Post that he wasn’t worried at all about Karl-Anthony Towns.

“I’m not worried about KAT. I don’t worry about KAT. I’m not even thinking about him. He’s the least of my worries.”

Beasley’s comments proved to haunt him and the Pistons. Towns averaged 19.7 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in six games to help the Knicks eliminate the Pistons.

If Beasley does join the Knicks, he may have to swallow his pride and mend fences with Towns to be embraced by the rest of the locker room.

New York Knicks continue to add to stacked roster

Adding Malik Beasley to what is already considered a strong New York Knicks roster only further solidifies them as the best team in the Eastern Conference.

While their starting lineup didn’t need much tweaking, it was their bench depth that cost them a trip to the NBA Finals.

Adding Yabusele, Clarkson, and now Beasley provides them with the bench scoring and defense that they sorely needed.

Look out for the New York Knicks next season, as they will be the toughest team in the Eastern Conference and will challenge for a spot in the NBA Finals.
