The most controversial moment of 2022 resurfaced when Draymond Green and Jordan Poole shared a heated exchange during a team practice session. The incident happened when Draymond Green punched Jordan Poole and exchanged some challenging words with each other. This moment created a rift between the teammates and reportedly influenced the Golden State Warriors’ decision to trade Poole to the Washington Wizards in 2023.

A recent viral clip indicates the tension started back in 2021. It said that during a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Green threatened Poole by saying, “I’m going to beat the s* out of you. I will f* you up.” The video also showed Green challenging Poole in practice and calling him out for not playing well against the starters.

According to a viral post on social media, head coach Steve Kerr talked to Poole aside and told him to “Stand up for himself. Be a man.” Poole responded by playing well in a scrimmage and later called Green an expensive backpack for 30. Green did not react at that time, but he ended up punching Poole in the next practice.

Later, Green reportedly apologized for his behavior. Kerr believes that was the worst era of the Golden State Warriors.

The Golden State Warriors are having a quiet offseason so far, primarily because of Jonathan Kuminga’s restricted free agency. The franchise has not made a single move yet, though players like AI Horford and De’Anthony Melton will likely join the team.

NBA insider Keith Smith recently suggested Malik Beasley as a possible target. Beasley averaged 16.3 points and shot 41.6% from three last season with the Detroit Pistons, could fit well in Steve Kerr’s system.

If Kuminga gets traded in a sign-and-trade, Beasley could help fill the bench scoring role. Kerr may soon have new options to work with.
