Kade Snyder, one of the region’s top prep basketball players from 2022-24, has returned to Reno and will play for Bishop Manogue High this season.

Snyder played last season for Sunnyslope High in Phoenix. His return to Northern Nevada was first reported by Arizona-based reporter Gregg Rosenberg and confirmed by Nevada Sports Net through Snyder’s mother.

Snyder is the son of former Nevada basketball players Haley Snyder and Kirk Snyder, the latter the star of the Wolf Pack’s 2004 Sweet 16 team and an inductee into this year’s Nevada athletics Hall of Fame.

A 6-foot-8, 220-pound wing player, the younger Snyder has received scholarship offers from Nevada, Long Beach State, Southern Utah and UC Santa Barbara. As a junior at Sunnyslope last season, he averaged 8.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game, shooting 59 percent from the field, 32 percent from three and 71 percent from the free throw line.

Snyder was one of Northern Nevada’s top players as a sophomore at McQueen High in 2023-24 when he averaged 21.2 points, 10 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 2.1 steals and 1.9 blocks per game, shooting 54 percent from the field, including 38 percent from three, while making 83 percent of his free throws. Snyder played for the Los Angeles-based Compton Magic on the AAU circuit this summer.

At Bishop Manogue, Snyder will play for another former Wolf Pack star in Luke Babbitt, who is entering his fourth season the Miners’ head coach. Manogue went 16-11 overall last season and 11-5 in the Northern 4A, which tied for second in the nine-team league. Snyder is expected to be one of the frontrunners for regional player of the year.
