Are the Boston Celtics closing in on a trade for former Portland Trail Blazers guard Anfernee Simons? The rumor mill has connected the Celtics to a push to move on from Simons this summer several times, and from a number of different sources.
The latest rumbles come from a corner of the NBA media not known for breaking news about the Celtics, but there has been a decent amount of smoke surrounding the possibility of a trade for the recent arrival in Boston’s backcourt. Do we really buy that the Denver Nuggets or Philadelphia 76ers might actually be interested in dealing for Simons? What sort of return might come back for Boston in such a trade, if so?
