The Philadelphia 76ers won’t know the status of their first-round pick until the lottery on May 12 as the pick is only top 6 protected. However, if the Sixers do end up keeping that pick, then there are going to be plenty of options for President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey and Co. to choose from.

It’s time to look at some potential draft prospects. The Sixers will have plenty of talented players to choose from and add to their stockpile of young pieces. It’s time to really break down the games of each of these prospects and see who best fits a Philadelphia team still focused on contending in the 2025-26 season if it can get some injury luck for once.

This series continues with Duke phenom Cooper Flagg. Of course, the Sixers would need some lottery luck on Monday in order to move up and earn the No. 1 pick to take Flagg, but he would be a huge addition to any team in the NBA. Especially, the Sixers.

Here is a profile on Flagg and what he can bring to the floor:

There isn’t much Flagg can’t do. He is a three-level scorer, he can create offense out of the pick-and-roll, and is a tough player off the dribble, capable of scoring at the basket with high efficiency. He can knock down a standstill jumper or score off movement by using elite footwork to get to the basket and finish layups. His creation in the pick-and-roll is impeccable as he always seems to make the right decision either to attack at the basket, pull up in the mid-range, or find the open man on the roll. He’s fantastic on the other end as well, versatile enough to defend multiple positions on the floor, and he makes multiple efforts on the defensive end.

Weaknesses

There really aren’t any, but if one wants to nitpick, Flagg does need to be a little more consistent with the jumper while also developing a second move when his first one gets stopped. He isn’t the most creative off the bounce when it comes to that so he will have to develop a secondary go-to move off the dribble as time moves on.

Potential fit for the Sixers

His ability to make plays off screens would help the Sixers immensely. Flagg can make plays off the bounce for Joel Embiid and Paul George and take some ball-handling pressure off Tyrese Maxey as well. Flagg has the ability to grab the rebound and go the other way to initiate the offense and keep things moving. If the Sixers were to be lucky enough to grab Flagg, then he would give them an immediate superstar.
