No one, other than the man himself, knows whether LeBron James will be back for his 23rd NBA season this fall. Many expect him to be back, but he was non-committal after the Los Angeles Lakers were knocked out of the playoffs by the Minnesota Timberwolves, and he does have a player option on his contract for next season.

One thing that could perhaps entice him to remain with the Purple and Gold is his son Bronny, whom they took with the No. 55 pick in last year’s draft. The younger James started to show strides after a rocky start while being shuttled back and forth between the NBA and G League, and there is now some hope that he could eventually become a legitimate NBA rotational player.

The 20-year-old told Fox Sports that he would like his father to continue to play in the NBA.

Via Fox Sports:

“Yeah, for sure,” he told FOX Sports. “However long he can come back for, it’s always a pleasure being around him. He’s locked in. The stuff he does for his body and the preparation and stuff like that, I want to take full advantage of it.”

The elder James has become known not only for his insane longevity, but also for how dedicated he is to taking care of his body. His continuing his career could be the best thing that happens to the younger James, as the guard can have a real-life example to model himself after as he looks to earn his way onto an NBA roster.
