The Denver Nuggets went through a change of personnel during the 2024-25 NBA season.
If an NBA team wants to make a change in personnel, most wait until the season is finished to avoid disrupting the flow of a franchise.
However, the Denver Nuggets shocked fans when they fired head coach Michael Malone and general manager Calvin Booth ahead of the 2025 playoffs.
Fast forward to now, and the Nuggets have named David Adelman as the permanent head coach, along with Ben Tenzer (interim GM) as executive vice president of basketball operations and Jon Wallace as executive vice president of player personnel.

The NBA is currently in the offseason, but superstar Nikola Jokic is still playing basketball. He’s currently away from the U.S. to represent Serbia at the 2025 EuroBasket.
Ahead of the competition, Jokic has shown new moves to fans, as he seems ready to lead Serbia to a terrific run.
Amid that, Jokic was recently visited by Tenzer and Wallace in Latvia, per Mozzart Sport.
“Denver Nuggets operatives Ben Tenzer and John Wallace attended the training of the Serbian national team.
“Tenzer serves as the Nuggets’ vice president of basketball operations after serving as interim general manager for a time, while Wallace serves as vice president of player development,” Mozzart Sport reported.
As expected, Jokic was preparing to face off against Estonia in the EuroBasket opener.
What makes Ben Tenzer and Jon Wallace’s visit important
Following a turbulent 2024-25 season, many wanted to know Jokic’s stance on his future with the Nuggets. When Jokic rejected a contract extension, it didn’t shock the Nuggets’ top brass.
In fact, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Jokic lets his current deal run out. After all, as of now, the Joker cannot sign an extension with a no-trade clause.
But for that to happen, the Nuggets must ensure that the 3x NBA MVP is happy with the actions of the front office.
Considering that, Tenzer and Wallace visited Jokic at 9:00 p.m. in Latvia, it shows their commitment to ensuring that the 2023 NBA champion feels happy.
After all, even when Jokic is playing for Serbia, he remains the most important player for the Nuggets.
