The EuroBasket 2025 is underway, and the European teams are locked in, ready to showcase some of the biggest NBA stars on the international stage. NBA superstars like Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic, and Giannis Antetokounmpo lead their respective countries.
Giannis and Greece kick-started their EuroBasket campaign with a win against Italy, and Milwaukee Bucks assistant coach Darvin Ham was in attendance. During the game, he gave his two cents about the difference between Giannis’ role in Milwaukee and Greece.
During the EuroBasket 2025 game between Greece and Italy, Darvin Ham was asked about the difference in Giannis Antetokounmpo’s role with his national team and NBA franchise. The Bucks assistant coach claimed that the Greek Freak has a much higher usage rate in the NBA.
“It’s more team-oriented, more sets, and all of that here is different. They don’t play as fast as we do in the NBA, but the NBA, his usage rate is off the charts. He always constantly has the ball in his hand. So, a little bit different role for him from over there (NBA). With us, he has to be Superman,” Ham said.
Darvin Ham also praised the two-time NBA MVP for keeping his teammates involved in the game. After winning the inaugural In-Season Tournament as the Los Angeles Lakers head coach, Darvin Ham remains unbeaten in the tournament. Last season, the Bucks were crowned the NBA Cup champions, keeping Ham’s record intact.
