An NBA trade idea sending Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis from the Milwaukee Bucks to the Miami Heat has been created.
NBA writer Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report created the following trade idea between the Bucks and Heat:
Miami Heat receive:Â Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis
Milwaukee Bucks receive: Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Terry Rozier, a 2030 first-round pick, a 2032 first-round pick and a 2031 first-round pick swap
This blockbuster NBA trade idea would pair Antetokounmpo with Heat All-Star Bam Adebayo. The Bucks, obviously, will only trade Antetokounmpo if the superstar forward requests out of Milwaukee.
The Heat lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round of the 2025 playoffs in four games, while the Bucks lost to the Indiana Pacers in the first round in five games. Milwaukee has won just one playoff series since winning the 2021 championship against the Phoenix Suns.
Miami president Pat Riley has been looking for a transcendent talent ever since LeBron James left the Heat for the Cavaliers in 2014. Jimmy Butler guided the Heat to the NBA Finals in 2020 and 2023, but Miami lost both times.
Antetokounmpo is one of the greatest players in NBA history. He’s the type of player who can change the trajectory of a franchise instantly, which is why Buckley has the Heat trading so much to acquire the future Hall of Famer in this trade idea.
A top 75 player of all time, Antetokounmpo is a two-time MVP, a one-time Finals MVP, a one-time Defensive Player of the Year and a nine-time All-Star. The Greek Freak has career averages of 23.9 points, 9.9 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.2 blocks in the NBA.
On August 4, NBA insider Shams Charania of ESPN reported that Antetokounmpo was still evaluating his future with the Bucks, so it appears the door is still open for the Heat to acquire Giannis.
