The Dallas Mavericks have made a decision on a former first-round pick.

Dallas has waived forward Olivier-Maxence Prosper via a stretch provision, a person familiar with the move confirmed to The Dallas Morning News. Dallas was in the market to find a trade partner for Prosper this offseason.

The Mavericks selected Prosper with the 24th overall pick in the 2023 NBA draft. Last season, Prosper appeared in 52 games, averaging 3.9 points and 2.4 rebounds per game.

Prosper has been recovering from right wrist surgery this offseason. He was one of several Mavericks bit by the injury bug last season and underwent surgery on March 12.

Prosper will now become an unrestricted free agent ahead of the 2025-26 season.
