Former Xavier men’s basketball standout Zach Freemantle has signed an Exhibit-10 contract with the Los Angeles Clippers, according to Senior NBA Insider Michael Scotto.

The Exhibit-10 deal is similar to a one-year, fully non-guaranteed training camp contract, where a player has the opportunity to make the regular-season roster. An Exhibit-10 contract can also be converted into a two-way contract, where players can bounce from the G-League to the NBA.

Freemantle was not one of the five Big East products selected during June’s NBA Draft, but he signed a summer league contract with the Orlando Magic as an undrafted forward.

In three summer league contests with Orlando, Freemantle averaged six points and 2.7 rebounds in 11 minutes while shooting 37.5% from the field.

Over a six-season collegiate career with the Musketeers, Freemantle battled a slew of injuries but still etched his name in Xavier history.

During Xavier’s first-round Big East Tournament loss to Marquette at Madison Square Garden in March, Freemantle became the fourth Xavier player to rank top 10 all-time in scoring and rebounding, joining David West, Romain Sato and Tyrone Hill.

Freemantle ranks 10th in Xavier history in career points (1,749) and ninth in career rebounds (888).

In 136 total games, Freemantle made 107 starts and averaged 12.9 points and 6.5 rebounds per night. A two-time All-Big East selection, Freemantle averaged 16.8 points and 6.8 rebounds last season to help lead Xavier to the NCAA Tournament.

In April, Freemantle was named to the all-tournament team at the 71st annual Portsmouth Invitational Tournament (PIT) in Virginia. The Teaneck, New Jersey native was also selected to play in the NABC-Reese’s Division I College All-Star Game in San Antonio as part of Final Four weekend.
