An NBA trade idea sending Coby White from the Chicago Bulls to the Minnesota Timberwolves has been created.
NBA writer Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report created the following trade idea between the Bulls and Timberwolves:
Minnesota Timberwolves receive: Coby White
Chicago Bulls receive: Donte DiVincenzo and Rob Dillingham
The Bulls missed the 2025 playoffs, while the Timberwolves lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Finals in five games.
Minnesota could start White, Anthony Edwards, Jaden McDaniels, Julius Randle and Rudy Gobert if the Timberwolves’ front office acquired White from the Bulls. That’s a strong starting five on paper.
White appeared in 74 games for the Bulls last season. He averaged 20.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.2 blocks while shooting 45.3% from the field, 37.0% from beyond the arc and 90.2% from the free-throw line.
A UNC product, White will make $12.9 million next season in the final year of his contract. He signed a three-year, $36 million deal with the Bulls in 2023.
White, 25, has career averages of 15.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.2 blocks. He was the seventh overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.
“If the Wolves see White’s creation and self-sufficient scoring as potential missing pieces, they probably do this deal without a second thought,” Buckley wrote.
The Timberwolves were 13th in the NBA in points per game and eighth in offensive rating last season. Those marks would likely improve if White were in the fold next to Edwards. The point guard scored a career-high 44 points against the Orlando Magic on March 6, 2025.
