An NBA trade idea sending Jerami Grant from the Portland Trail Blazers to the Milwaukee Bucks has been created.
NBA writer Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report created the following trade idea between the Trail Blazers and Bucks:
Milwaukee Bucks receive:Â Jerami Grant
Portland Trail Blazers receive:Â Kyle Kuzma, Tyler Smith and Andre Jackson Jr.
Grant appeared in 47 games for the Trail Blazers last season. He averaged 14.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.0 blocks while shooting 37.3% from the field, 36.5% from beyond the arc and 84.9% from the free-throw line.
The 31-year-old Grant will make $32 million next season. He signed a five-year, $160 million contract with the Trail Blazers in July 2023.
A Syracuse product, Grant has played for the Philadelphia 76ers, Oklahoma City Thunder, Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons and Trail Blazers. He has career averages of 13.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.0 blocks in the NBA.
Bucks general manager Jon Horst has been extremely busy this offseason. He waived and stretched Damian Lillard, signed Myles Turner, Gary Harris, Amir Coffey and Thanasis Antetokounmpo and re-signed Bobby Portis, Kevin Porter Jr., Gary Trent Jr., Taurean Prince and Jericho Sims.
If Horst traded for Grant, Bucks head coach Doc Rivers could start Porter Jr., Trent Jr., Grant, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Turner next season. That’s not a bad starting lineup on paper, especially in an Eastern Conference without Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton and Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum.
Haliburton (Achilles) has already been ruled out for the 2025-26 season, while Tatum (Achilles) is expected to miss the entire campaign as well.
Milwaukee lost to Indiana in the first round of the 2025 playoffs in five games. The franchise has won only one playoff series since winning the 2021 championship against the Phoenix Suns in six games.
