After enjoying the jubilation of an NBA championship for the last couple of months, the Oklahoma City Thunder will soon start their title reign with the hopes of being a rare repeat winner. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander might’ve had one of the best individual seasons ever with an MVP and ring, but that doesn’t mean basketball stops.
The Thunder will enter the 2025-26 regular season as the popular title favorite. Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren all signed contract extensions this offseason to ensure their championship window remains open as they hope to add more Larry O’Brien trophies.
As the calendar flips to September, the NBA will soon return to its normal business operations. The Thunder will host their 2025 Media Day later this month and will have training camp kick off the following days. Before you know it, the preseason and regular season will start.
Enjoying some downtime at home, Gilgeous-Alexander hosted a kids’ basketball camp in his hometown of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He showed off some of his isolation skills against some of the campers. That’s his bread and butter with three straight 30-plus point campaigns.
Some of Gilgeous-Alexander’s teammates were in attendance for his camp. Jalen Williams, Isaiah Joe, Kenrich Williams, Branden Carlson and Brooks Barnhizer were some of the Thunder players featured in their social media videos about the event.
That group, plus the rest of the roster, will soon spend about every day together for the next six-plus months. The Thunder hope their continuity helps them carry over their historic dominance from last year. Their championship aspirations start and stop with Gilgeous-Alexander.
