PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — The one and only Damian Lillard is officially back in Portland. The Blazers re-introduced him this week. And Lillard’s annual basketball camp in Beaverton is also making a return.

More than 380 boys and girls ages 6 to 16 are attending this year’s four-day event, which started on Tuesday.

Kids at Lillard’s camp will get a chance to participate in skill development, team building, and personal growth. And Dame himself will be with the campers for all the fun.

The Blazers’ superstar is well-known for giving back to the Portland community and beyond. The nine-time all-star says providing kids with this camp is very important to him.

“I wanted to be the type of experience that all kids can remember you know. I know everybody isn’t fortunate enough to afford what it costs,” Lillard told KATU.

“I still want it to be accessible like you said for everybody, so we do a lot of scholarships,” he added.

Lillard says the kids can’t believe he’s back with the Blazers. He told KATU the kids are more focused on hearing about his return than the actual camp.
