The Brooklyn Nets will be heading into the 2025-26 NBA season with a different roster than what they had to end the 2024-25 season in which they had the sixth-worst record. Brooklyn pulled off some trades this offseason along with bringing in five rookies from the 2025 NBA Draft so it’s interesting to wonder what the team’s offense will look like next season.

Based off the moves that the Nets have made this summer, the starting lineup heading into next season will most likely Egor Demin, Cam Thomas, Michael Porter Jr., Noah Clowney, and Nic Claxton. Assuming this is the starting lineup, there are still a few issues that Brooklyn has to figure out before the beginning of next season that could influence how the offense runs.

For starters, Demin would be getting his first taste of NBA action after one season in BYU in which he showed his ability to pass the ball while still presenting some questions over his ability to play off the ball. When it comes to Thomas, the Nets have yet to re-sign the scorer as he remains a restricted free-agent looking to figure out what his next contract will look like.

Porter is coming off a 2024-25 season with the Denver Nuggets in which he averaged 18.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game while shooting 50.4% from the field and 39.5% from three-point land. Which should be encouraging is that Porter put up those numbers while being the third option behind center Nikola Jokic and guard Jamal Murray during his time in Denver.

Clowney is coming off a sophomore season in which he averaged 9.1 points and 3.9 rebounds per game while shooting 35.8% from the field and 33.3% from deep. Clowney showed some growth in his overall offensive game, especially from behind the three-point line, but he will be able to take the next step if he improves scoring at the basket and around the rim.

Claxton is coming off a 2024-25 campaign in which he averaged 10.3 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game while shooting 56.3% from the floor and 51.3% from the free-throw line. In their first year under head coach Jordi Fernandez, Brooklyn finished 28th in the league in offensive rating last season so it will be worth monitoring if Fernandez and the players are able to improve on that metric next season.
