Turkey and Serbia are both a perfect 4-0 at EuroBasket 2025, and that sets up an Alperen Sengun-Nikola Jokic showdown on Wednesday. First place in Group A will be on the line.
As expected, Houston Rockets center Alperen Sengun was dominant again in Turkey’s 84-64 rout (box score) of Estonia during Monday’s FIBA EuroBasket 2025 action.
The 2025 NBA All-Star finished with 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists while making 8-of-13 shots (61.5%) — including 2-of-3 from 3-point range (66.7%).
As a team, Turkey went +22 in Sengun’s 32 minutes.
All Group A games are being played in Latvia, and Turkey is now 4-0 through its five-game, group-phase slate. Highlights are available below.
Going forward, Monday’s results set up a Wednesday showdown between Turkey and Serbia, with the latter also 4-0 in Group A games.
More specifically, it will be a showdown at center between a pair of NBA All-Stars — Turkey’s Sengun and Serbia’s Nikola Jokic, a perennial Most Valuable Player (MVP) frontrunner with the Denver Nuggets.
So, while Sengun has certainly shown promise through four dominant EuroBasket games, the level of competition is about to rise significantly.
Both Turkey and Serbia have already clinched spots among the competition’s final 16 teams, though Wednesday’s result will determine the group winner and affect seeding in the subsequent knockout rounds.
Tipoff of the Turkey-Serbia clash is at 1:15 p.m. Central on Wednesday, and details on how to watch and stream are available at FIBA’s website.
