NBA players view Charlotte as the worst franchise in the league, according to an anonymous survey by Sam Amick and Josh Robbins of The Athletic.
The report details that 38.1 percent of the 113 players polled named the Hornets the worst organization. Not surprising considering the team has not reached the playoffs since 2016.

The Hornets were followed in the voting by the Washington Wizards (20.4 percent), New Orleans Pelicans (11.5 percent), Sacramento Kings (8.8 percent), Philadelphia 76ers (5.3 percent), Dallas Mavericks (4.4 percent) and Chicago Bulls (2.7 percent), all of whom missed the playoffs this season, according to the report.
Charlotte posted a 19-63 record this past season, marking their third straight losing campaign and their worst record in 13 years.

As one of the NBA’s younger teams, the Hornets feature LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller, and Mark Williams. However, injuries are a recurring problem with Ball having yet to play a full season in his entire NBA career. Despite the troubles, the Hornets have struggled to keep any consistency. Michael Jordan sold his majority stake in the team two years ago and they’re on the rebound.

The Warriors were named the top team. One player had great things to say about the Warriors in the report. “They were first-class. Steve [Kerr] came from San Antonio. He knew a lot of the principles. They do a really good job of taking care of the players and the families.”
