NBA opening night is roughly a month and a half out, but media day for the Detroit Pistons is scheduled for the end of September. Trajan Langdon, the Pistons’ president of basketball operations, retooled the roster this summer. He enters his second season at the helm — but his first with legitimate expectations.

Cade Cunningham is a budding star. Jaden Ivey returns as Cunningham’s backcourt mate after his fractured left fibula derailed what was shaping up to be his best season yet. Ausar Thompson and Jalen Duren each showed signs of moving forward for Detroit on both sides of the ball.

But success, especially in the NBA, is rarely linear. Which means there are likely questions about how good this team can be in 2025-26. What’s on your mind about the Pistons gearing up for a season lined with real optimism for the first time in years?
