Former North Carolina Tar Heels’ forward Garrison Brooks spent a little time in the NBA G-League before playing in Korea and then Lithuania to continue his basketball career. But on Tuesday, he found his new home.

Per Chris Haynes, the free agent has agreed to a deal with the New Orleans Pelicans. Haynes sourced Brooks’ agent Darrell Comer with the news. The contract is unknown at this time but will likely be an exhibit 10 contract at this stage of the offseason for Brooks.

Most recently, Brooks was sent from the Noblesville Boom to the Birmingham Squadron, who are the affiliates for the Pelicans.

In his lone season with Westchester, Brooks averaged 12.5 points and 10.2 rebounds. From there, he went to play overseas for the past couple of seasons. From there, Brooks was then selected with the 1st overall pick by the Valley Suns in the 2024 G League expansion draft. A few months later, he was traded to the Indiana Mad Ants.

Brooks will now get a chance to impress the Pelicans as his next basketball stop will take place in New Orleans.
