Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo is out of the EuroBasket game against Bosnia because of his knee injury. Bosnia and Herzegovina center Jusuf Nurkic spoke openly after his team’s close 80-77 win over Greece. Nurkic recently made a direct claim about Antetokounmpo’s defensive game, and now he is again with his opinion on the Bucks star.
Giannis entered the 2025 EuroBasket league with no restrictions, but the injury limited his time on the court. He remains among the top scorers of the tournaments, with an average of 29 points per game. However, Nurkic believes it did not affect their approach to playing in the absence of the big man.
“I think it didn’t change a lot,” Nurkic added. “We still had the same attachment to the defence or offence, and regardless of who’s going to play there, you have to have the same discipline. So for most of the night, we did have a lot of discipline, we still have to learn to be better, not helping the shooters, and when shooters catch and shoot, we have our hands down. When you think about crazy, then you don’t bring the hand up to the great shooters like Stukas or somebody, and we have to learn from there, but I’ll take any win, man.”
However, Giannis’s comeback will raise anticipation among the franchise and his fans. His strong comeback will also impact the upcoming NBA league, and he will surely meet all expectations.
