Chris Paul is beginning a new chapter with the Los Angeles Clippers. The team needed depth at the point guard spot off the bench. Then they added Paul as the Clippers viewed him as the ideal choice. After completing a season with the San Antonio Spurs, Paul is now prepared to take on the responsibility of guiding his new Clippers teammates.
For Los Angeles, bringing Paul in is clearly a positive move. Fans quickly reacted after hearing the news of Paul joining the Clippers.
Still, during a recent episode of the Buckets’ Outta Pocket podcast, former NBA big man DeMarcus Cousins gave a harsh opinion on Paul. According to Cousins, Paul’s name shouldn’t be in the top-five all-time point guards list.
“My question to you guys is, can we get a top-five all-time PGs list? Chris Paul shouldn’t be on that list. Every time I hear a top-five PGs list, Chris Paul is in it, and I’m not really understanding why,” Cousins said.
Paul is often regarded as one of the best point guards to ever play the game. But his legacy continues to spark debate. Just back in July, former NBA star Kendrick Perkins stirred conversation by placing Paul only 15th on his personal list of greatest point guards.

Paul is heading into his 21st NBA season. Even before joining the Clippers, he suggested that this upcoming season could potentially be his last.
Paul’s family lives in Los Angeles. Hence, he chose to sign with the Clippers despite knowing he might serve in a bench role. At this stage of his career, his priority is maintaining a balance between basketball and family life.
Paul first entered the league in 2005 with the New Orleans Hornets and joined the Clippers in 2011. In his six seasons with the team, he posted averages of 18.8 points, 9.8 assists, and 4.2 rebounds across 409 games. Now back in Los Angeles, Paul is ready to make what could be his final run in the NBA.
