The Los Angeles Clippers have massively improved their roster ahead of the 2025-26 season.

Despite finishing with a 50-32 record during the 2024-25 NBA season, the Los Angeles Clippers failed to elevate their game come playoff time.

As a result, the Clippers suffered a first-round exit for the third straight season. Keeping that in mind, the Clippers’ front office has shaken things up during the offseason.

They have signed multiple free agents, including a reunion with 40-year-old Chris Paul.

With Paul in the twilight years of his career, many are happy to see him play for the Clippers in what could be his final NBA season.

So far, Paul has failed to win an NBA Championship in his career. Despite that, he’s considered among the top five point guards of all time.

Well, former NBA star DeMarcus Cousins is puzzled by Paul’s presence among the top-five NBA point guards of all time.

He took a shot at the now-Clippers star during an episode of the Outta Pocket podcast in 2022.

“My question to you guys is, can we get a top-five all-time PGs list? Chris Paul shouldn’t be on that list. Every time I hear a top-five PGs list, Chris Paul is in it, and I’m not really understanding why.

“No knock to CP… Strictly from an accolade and a performance standpoint, I don’t think Chris Paul is top-five,” Cousins said.

In any all-time top five point guards debate, Magic Johnson, Isiah Thomas, and Stephen Curry are always present. Cousins agreed with these three names.

But could Paul be the fourth player on the list? According to Cousins, no.

“We gotta bring up Steve Nash. We gotta bring up John Stockton. We gotta bring up Jason Kidd. Then we gotta bring in [Russell] Westbrook. I mean, he’s an MVP,” Cousins explained.

Despite being a 12x NBA All-Star and 11x All-NBA, Cousins simply believes the lack of MVP trophies and championships disqualifies Paul from this debate.
