Through the 2024-25 season, the Los Angeles Lakers have had a total of 506 players suit up for them, going back to their days in Minneapolis. Some were forgettable, some were serviceable, some were good and a select few were flat-out legendary.
As the Lakers approach their 80th season of existence (they were founded back in 1946 as the Detroit Gems in the National Basketball League), LeBron Wire is taking a look at each player who has worn their jersey, whether it has been a purple and gold one or the ones they donned back in the Midwest during their early years.

Adam Morrison was once a major star on the college basketball scene. He played three seasons at Gonzaga University in the mid-2000s, and as a junior, he averaged 28.1 points a game on 49.6% overall shooting and 42.8% from 3-point range. He led the nation in scoring that year and was named the West Coast Conference (WCC) Player of the Year.
He took his school to the Sweet Sixteen round of the NCAA Tournament in 2006, where it faced the University of California, Los Angeles. The Bulldogs built a 17-point lead and were still up by five points with a minute left, but they fell apart and lost by two points. Morrison reacted by crying profusely and collapsing to the ground, a moment that became meme-worthy.
The 6-foot-8 forward was the No. 3 pick in the 2006 NBA Draft by the Charlotte Bobcats. But he shot just 37.6% from the field as a rookie, and in a preseason game in October 2007, he tore his ACL and missed the entire 2007-08 campaign.
The Lakers acquired Morrison midway through the 2008-09 season, along with guard Shannon Brown, for forward Vladimir Radmanovic. Ironically, the Lakers were the team against whom he injured his ACL, and although he never regained his form after the injury, he remained with the Lakers until 2010. It was very fortunate timing for him, as he got to collect back-to-back NBA championship rings.

He played two more seasons of pro basketball overseas before calling it a career. He ended up averaging 2.2 points in 7.3 minutes a game as a member of the Lakers.
