The Los Angeles Lakers have always prided themselves on being a class organization that takes good care of their own. Even when a star or superstar has left the team, which has rarely happened, they have continued to treat such a player with nothing but love and respect.
Many Lakers fans continually dogged Anthony Davis for his perceived shortcomings during his time with the team. He was shipped off to the Dallas Mavericks in early February for Luka Doncic, and it was a trade that has seemingly restored Lakers mystique.

But LeBron James still seems to have a relationship with Davis. During an appearance on SiriusXM NBA Radio, Lakers governor Jeanie Buss said she’s looking forward to catching up with Davis, although she made it clear that such a conversation will have to wait.
“I haven’t seen him face-to-face and I look forward to in the offseason,” she said. “But you have to remember, he’s now under contract to another team. We’ve had too many instances of people accusing us of tampering, so I have to be really careful with stuff like that.”
Davis spent five seasons and change with L.A., and in his first season there, the team went from missing the playoffs to winning the NBA championship. During his time with the team, he averaged 24.8 points,11.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.2 blocks per game while shooting 53.2% from the field, and he was named to the All-Star team four times.
Perhaps over time, Lakers fans will start to appreciate his contributions more and start to forget the hard feelings they had for him.
