Former NBA player Charles Barkley recently sparked controversy with his remarks on The Ringer podcast. Barkley blamed LeBron James and Kevin Durant for the superteam trend and claims that the NBA was correct in adding the second apron.
Durant is famous for firing back at criticism directed at him. Previously, he pointed the finger at politics for snubbing him from the NBA All-Star Defensive Team. Barkley’s strong statement quickly caught Durant’s attention. The two-time NBA champion took to X to respond to Barkley’s statement.
“Ooh since we’re playing the blame game, I select Bob Myers as the fall guy,” Durant said.

After a long saga of speculation, Kevin Durant joined the Houston Rockets in a seven-team blockbuster deal. This brings Amen Thompson the opportunity to play alongside Durant in the 2025-26 NBA season. Amen Thompson and his twin brother, Ausar Thompson, were recently guests on the ‘Young Man and the Three’ podcast, where Thompson reflected on his experience guarding Durant on the court.
“It’s going to be fun playing with him because I’ve had to guard him. You know, that’s like my matchup and I consider myself if not the best defender in the league, one of the best. So just you know we’re double teaming. I’m guarding him. Obviously, he’s bigger than me, but we’re double-teaming, and he could pass, too. That’s the thing. Like KD [Durant] could pass, I think every time we play him, he gets like eight plus assists… I’m excited.. I’m smiling, thinking about just getting on the court for the first time with him,” Thompson said.
Durant averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists in 62 games in the 2024-25 NBA season.
