There is no shortage of documentaries and documentary series about the Boston Celtics. And with the most regular season wins and NBA titles in the history of the league, it is not hard to see why that is the case. In fact, it sometimes feels like a new Celtics documentary comes out every few months (and sometimes they do!).

But this year, the one documentary series that may outdo them all has been released via HBO, the new “Celtics City” docuseries that covers the entire history of the franchise across right decades of existence. One of the founding ball clubs of the Basketball Association of America — a precursor league of the NBA — there is so much ground to cover, both on the court and off, as the team’s past is inexorably entangled with the City of Boston and the US writ large.

The folks behind the “Hoop Genius” YouTube channel put together a clip of an interview with the director Lauren Stowell and co-executive producer Gabe Honig. Check it out below!
